Challenge:

Increase the number of dental Medicaid providers and patients served in the state of Missouri. A historic rate increase brought the profitability of Medicaid services in line with other insurance reimbursements, making the value proposition better for dentists who had previously opted out.

Solution

We developed a multi-pronged digital approach to break down the stigma surrounding Medicaid recipients, bring awareness to the need for more Medicaid providers, and educate clinicians about the benefits of accepting dental Medicaid whilst supporting them through the credentialing process.

Tactics for this campaign included email marketing, content marketing, social media, digital video, geo-targeting, direct mail, and five bite-sized webinars coined Medicaid Minis.

Outcome:

In fiscal year 2023, new dental Medicaid enrollment applications increased to 184, showing an 82.2% increase year over year, and 13.59% more unique patients were seen when compared to fiscal year 2022. Since FY2022, we’ve realized an 81% increase in access for Missouri’s dental Medicaid patients. And by June 1, 2025, the client reported a total of 694 credentialed dental Medicaid providers in the state.
